Some products win you over in a week. The K8 Pro won us over in an afternoon, and then spent three months making every other board on the desk feel like a compromise.
The typing feel is the headline. The factory-lubed switches are smooth without going mushy, the keycaps have that deep, soft thock that makes long writing sessions oddly satisfying, and the aluminium frame kills every trace of flex. Bluetooth pairing across three devices has been flawless, and the battery simply refuses to be a thing we think about.
What we would change: the board is tall enough that a wrist rest should really be in the box, and the stock backlight is more mood lighting than illumination. Neither is close to a deal-breaker.
Verdict: 4.5 out of 5. If your desk setup budget stretches to exactly one upgrade this year, make it this one.
